We appreciate everyone who participated in the July community meeting! Here's a summary of everything that was announced, discussed, and shared.
Estate Updates & Development
Tenebrae Remodel Complete
The extensive remodel of Tenebrae has now been completed. Following the relocation of Tobias and Damiel's home, the area has been transformed with new landscaping, several attractive parcels for lease, and additional public spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy.
If you know someone searching for a new home in Second Life, now is an excellent time to invite them to explore Lunamere and see the available parcels. Don't forget, there's a referral bonus in it for you too!
Estate Path Project Progress
The ongoing estate path redesign has reached roughly 80% completion for its first phase.
This initial pass focused on improving navigation for horseback riding, golf carts, and similar vehicles. While no path system can accommodate every rideable object, Tobias explained that significant effort has gone into making exploration smoother across the estate.
Future phases of the project will focus on:
visually distinguishing public roads from private paths,
improving resident privacy,
refining landscaping,
and optimizing land impact throughout the estate.
Although the project has grown considerably larger than originally planned, the result will be a more cohesive and accessible Lunamere.
Changes in Lumora
Magic has been bustling and busy in Lumora since the last meeting.
The Grimoire Lounge has relocated into a larger neighboring building, leaving its former location available for rent. Two additional storefronts have also been created near the landing area and may be used for businesses, roleplay spaces, or residential rentals.
Lilly Blackwood passed on a message that the Grimoire Lounge's new outdoor garden is open and available for community events, gatherings, live music, and roleplay.
Community Growth
Riding Group in Development
A sneak peek was given into the creation of a riding group. While details are still being finalized, Tobias shared that more information should be available before - or at - the next community meeting.
He also explained that he intends to expand Lunamere's presence within the broader Second Life community by listing the estate as a riding destination and participating in additional nature and exploration groups.
Expanding Beyond Lunamere
Tobias also spoke about his long-term goal of building stronger relationships with other Second Life communities.
Rather than keeping Lunamere isolated, he hopes to encourage collaboration and participation in events across the wider grid while continuing to make Lunamere a welcoming destination for visitors.
DJs & Hosts Wanted
Lunamere is still looking to expand its pool of volunteer DJs and event hosts. Anyone interested in helping with future events is encouraged to contact Tobias or Damiel for additional information.
Upcoming Events & Activities
Lughnasadh Altar
Tobias will be decorating the altar on the Sky Island for Lughnasadh (Aug 1st) - honoring the First Harvest. Rather than a scheduled event, the altar is intended as a peaceful space where residents can stop by, reflect, and learn more about the sabbat and its traditions.
The 80's Hour (Supersized)
The 80's Hour Supersized returns as a two-hour dance party at The Raven & Key Club by DJ Mer (Mary Layton) on Saturday, August 1 from 2-4 PM SLT. Residents are encouraged to send Mary any favorite songs they'd like included in the playlist.
Stranger Skate
On August 15th from 12-3 PM SLT, Lunamere heads into the Upside Down with Stranger Skate, an afternoon inspired by 80s horror and Stranger Things.
Expect themed décor, synth-heavy music, and plenty of opportunities to dress in classic 80s fashion - or as a survivor escaping the Upside Down. Bring your walkie-talkie, you're gonna want backup!
Lunamere Book Club
The next Lunamere Book Club book has been chosen! It is time to devour A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher. Described as a blend of humor, horror, darkness, and hope, the novel follows Cordelia and Hester as they confront a dangerously magical mother in a fresh take on classic fairy tale themes.
Feel free to read or listen and then join us at the next meeting on Thu August 20th at 6 PM SLT at the Lunamere Community Center.
Octarine Grand Opening
On Fri August 1st from 7-8:30 PM SLT, Lunamere officially opens Octarine, its new underground nightclub. Inspired by occult aesthetics and eldritch mystery, Octarine will feature goth music, atmospheric décor, and dancing beneath the estate. Tobias noted that if attendance is strong, the club may become a recurring event rather than an occasional party. Goth / Industrial / EDM DJs interested in DJing an occasional Friday night party here are strongly encouraged to get in contact with Tobias Moonchild or Damiel Moonchild!
Barn Burner Dance
Closing out the month is one of Tobias' personal most anticipated events: the Barn Burner Dance! This hollerin' good time will be held on Sat August 29th from 12-1:30 PM SLT.
Featuring a playlist curated by Tobias of bluegrass covers of modern songs, dancing, and plenty of country charm, the event promises a fun afternoon filled with banjos, fiddles, boots, and a lighthearted atmosphere.
Resident-Led Events
Residents are encouraged to host their own events within Lunamere, whether that means storytelling, concerts, dances, game nights, or other community gatherings.
Support available includes:
Community Calendar listings
Discord event announcements
In-world group notices
Access to the estate audio stream (when available)
Estate event platforms for larger gatherings
Estate event platforms remain available free of charge to Lunamere residents on a first-come, first-served basis. While the published guideline is 1,000 LI, Tobias noted that additional prims can often be accommodated when needed.
Damiel also reminded residents that he is happy to assist with creating event posters when given enough advance notice.
That's all the news for now!
