✦ Before You Begin ✦
A few things to know before diving in.
Avatars & Age
Child avatars are not permitted in Lunamere, and age play is strictly prohibited. This is an intentional choice: Lunamere is designed to be a space where adults can be fully themselves without needing to monitor their language, voice chat, appearance, decor, music, or media for minor-appropriate content. We want residents and guests to feel genuinely free, not constantly self-editing. We have nothing against those who enjoy child avatar roleplay in Second Life, there are wonderful age-appropriate communities for that, but Lunamere is simply not the right space for it.
Small or tiny avatars (including Dinkies) are welcome and are not considered child avatars by default. However, if a player, avatar profile, appearance, or behavior suggests a minor in any form - including profile statements, in-character age statements, roleplay scenarios, avatar names, or items such as pacifiers, diapers, or similar - that is not permitted here. Estate staff reserve the right to make judgment calls in ambiguous situations, always with fairness and good faith.
Region Ratings
Lunamere spans both Moderate and Adult regions. To enter the Adult region, your Second Life account must reflect that you are 18+ based on your registered birthdate, and your viewer settings must allow Adult content.

Pets and breedables are welcome, including non-animal breedables such as PlantPets. All parcels are subject to the following limits:

✦ Your Land ✦
Lunamere's land is meant to be lived in, not just stood upon. Parcels are designed to feel like part of the whole estate while still giving you space to shape, decorate, and dream.
Parcel Sizes & Pricing
Parcels use a prim multiplier, meaning you'll enjoy more land impact than the standard allowance. Tier is set at L$1.5 per prim per week. If you have a specific size in mind that isn't listed, reach out to tobias.moonchild - we may be able to accommodate you, depending on availability.
Parcels in Lunamere are often irregular in shape rather than perfectly square. The approximate dimensions listed reflect the core usable area of each parcel - so while a parcel may have sections that jut out or taper off, the bulk of the space will comfortably accommodate a build of those dimensions.

✧ No paid account is required to rent land in Lunamere - a free Basic account is all you need. ✧
Paying Tier
Each parcel has a tier box located near its entrance. To pay your tier, right-click the tier box and select Pay. Payment options are available in increments of 1-4 weeks, and you may prepay up to 8 weeks in advance. After each payment, your tier box will whisper the exact date your next payment is due. You can also touch the box at any time to check your remaining time.
Grace Periods
Your tier box will begin whispering reminders 3 days before your tier is due. If your tier goes unpaid, a 5-day grace period begins. During this time you'll receive automated login messages and a notecard reminder from an estate manager, and your parcel will remain intact. If you pay during the grace period, your payment first covers any overdue days before adding future time - so if you're 4 days late and pay for one week, your meter will show 3 days remaining.
If the grace period ends without payment, your parcel will be reclaimed, your belongings returned - including no-copy items, which may be lost forever in SL's fickle winds - and the land listed as available again.
Should you need your due date adjusted to fall on a specific day, just contact an estate manager and we'll sort it out.
Other Tenants
After your first tier payment, you can add additional avatars to your parcel's tier box so they may help pay on your behalf. Right-click the meter, select Tenant > Add Tenant, enter the avatar's account name (not their display name), and click OK to confirm.
If a fellow resident is unexpectedly away and you'd like to cover their tier on their behalf, please contact an estate manager - we'll make sure the payment gets where it needs to go.
Moving in Lunamere
Sometimes the mists shift, and so may you. Residents may move or swap parcels within Lunamere up to once every 30 days. Please contact an estate manager so your tier box can be updated and your remaining tier time transferred (up to 8 weeks). Note that tier cannot be transferred between residents.
Selling & Relinquishing
You may sell your parcel at any time, though you remain responsible for the tier until the sale is complete. Remaining tier does not transfer to the new buyer. Subleasing is not permitted.
If you wish to step away entirely, you may relinquish your parcel back to the estate. No refunds will be issued for the purchase price or remaining tier, and any time left on the meter will not carry over to the next resident.
✦ Landscaping ✦
Lunamere is a lush, heavily forested realm where moss, ivy, and woodland growth spill into nearly every corner. Perfectly trimmed lawns have no place here - Lunamere is a realm where nature reclaims what it can, and your parcel should feel like it's been tenderly overtaken rather than tamed. Even in towns, stone and timber blend seamlessly into surrounding trees and vines.
Some parcels include pathways, streams, or waterways that pass along or through them. These are part of Lunamere's design and may not be removed or covered. Waterways must remain open and clear for sailing and passage. Estate staff may occasionally smooth parcel edges to keep the land flowing naturally.
Foliage Requirements
Residents are expected to thoughtfully landscape their parcels so they feel alive and part of the whole estate. A good rule of thumb is to dedicate 20-35% of your land impact to foliage and natural elements:

These aren't hard numbers so much as a guiding presence. Some residents are wizards of landscaping and can fulfill the visual requirements without reaching the minimum suggested LI. But if a parcel feels bare or lacking greenery, you may be asked to add more. Trees should be full, plants abundant, and ivy or vines climbing across walls and roofs are not only welcome but encouraged.
Landscaping Services
When you first set up your parcel, we'll happily provide complimentary landscaping to help it flow naturally with the estate. Just let us know if you'd like this service. Minor adjustments may be made from time to time to keep things harmonious. If you'd like more extensive custom work, it can be arranged for a fee depending on scope and availability.
Seasonal Decorating
While Lunamere itself does not shift with the seasons, residents are welcome to decorate their parcels for autumn and winter during the following windows:

The estate landscaping team will weave seasonal touches into the greater greenery, creating gentle pockets of autumn leaves or snowy wonder without breaking the harmony of the land.
✦ Structures ✦
Lunamere's buildings tell a story. Some are brought through the Mists by travelers from other times, while others seem to have grown from the land itself, softened by magic and memory. Together, they weave the fabric of the estate.
Building Tech & Quality
Outdated plants built from multiple flat prims crossed together may not be used. Sculpted plants are permitted as long as they appear natural and high-quality. PBR and Blinn-Phong textures are both welcome, regardless of whether a PBR item includes backup Blinn-Phong textures.

Accepted Building Styles
Rustic: Farmhouses, woodland cottages, and craftsman-inspired homes that blend stone, glass, wood, and metal. These reflect the present-day travelers who find their way here.
Storybook: Fairy-tale dwellings shaped by the Mists, with irregular rooflines, textured facades, and echoes of medieval villages. These hold space for Lunamere's enchanted roots and its predecessor, Rosehaven.
Both styles are equally welcome - Rustic feels lived-in, Storybook feels timeless, and together they balance Lunamere's charm.
Pre-Approved Building List
All structures must be approved before placement to ensure they fit Lunamere's aesthetic. To save yourself time and money, please check with us before purchasing anything - if a build hasn't been reviewed or doesn't harmonize with the estate, you may be asked to choose an alternative.
A list of already-approved buildings can be found here. Where available, each image links to the Marketplace listing or in-world store. Some builds on the list may no longer be available for purchase.
Truly special builds may be marked "One of a Kind" - unique pieces that appear only once in the estate, adding rare magic to the land.

Height, Scale & Placement
Buildings taller than 19 meters may not be approved. This isn't a hard ban on tall builds - it's about ensuring everything harmonizes with the landscape. If you have something taller in mind, check with us first.
Buildings should not press directly against parcel lines. Allow breathing room around your structures where possible. On smaller parcels this guideline is flexible, but a little space goes a long way toward keeping the estate from feeling crowded.
Walls, Fences & Hedges

A good rule of thumb is to position walls, fences, and hedges as far from the parcel line as the wall or fence is tall. These limits help keep views open and parcels connected. Exceptions may be requested, but final approval rests with estate staff for the good of the community.
Textures, Lighting & Glow
Millennial gray and pale "albino" builds may be used, but must be tinted or retextured with deeper, more natural materials to blend with the estate's aesthetic. Think worn and lived-in rather than stark and new. Estate staff are happy to assist with retexturing or can suggest alternatives from our collection of suitable builds.
Full Bright: Permitted for windows and obvious light sources only.
Glow: Must not exceed 0.30.
Light Sources: Radius should be no more than 6m. Adjust intensity and falloff for subtlety, and always check your lights in both day and night settings.
✧ When shopping for landscaping, exterior decor, and structural elements, we strongly recommend purchasing items that are modifiable - this makes it much easier to adjust textures, tints, and settings to blend seamlessly with the estate. As a general rule, avoid full-bright items unless they serve an obvious purpose such as windows or light sources, and check before purchasing if you're unsure. ✧
Skyboxes & Sky Platforms
Skyboxes are welcome above 1000 meters. No theme restrictions apply in the sky - you're free to enjoy any aesthetic you like up there. Need help setting up a platform? Contact an estate manager and we'll gladly assist.

Hovertext is welcome inside your home or building, provided it stays far enough from parcel edges that it won't be visible from neighboring parcels. Outside, please reserve hovertext for areas not visible from the ground, such as sky platforms or inside skyboxes.

✦ Parcel Etiquette ✦
Sound & Voice
If you have pets, clocks, TVs, livestock, or other items that produce sound, please enable "Restrict gesture and object sounds to this parcel" in your About Land settings. If you use voice chat, enabling "Restrict voice to this parcel" will keep your conversations on your land and give you more privacy. These small steps help keep the estate calm and enjoyable for all.

Particles, Scripts & Lag
Particle effects are part of Lunamere's magic, but if something is overly intense you may be asked to tone it down or remove it. Scripted items are normal and expected, but if one begins consuming too many resources we may ask you to remove it. In very rare cases, if something causes significant region lag it may be returned without notice - but only if truly necessary.
Modest use of Temp-Rez is allowed, provided you don't use it to circumvent your parcel's land impact limits. Plant pets utilize temp-rez and are permitted under the breedables rules above.

✦ Security & Privacy ✦
Parcel Visibility
One of the simplest ways to create privacy on your parcel is to control whether neighboring avatars can see and hear you. By default, avatars on either side of a parcel border can see each other and read each other's local chat. Disabling this setting creates a bubble around your land - those outside your parcel border will no longer see you, your visitors, or your local chat, and you won't see or hear theirs either. To enable it, open your About Land window, go to the Options tab, and uncheck "Avatars on other parcels can see and chat with avatars on this parcel." Once set, your parcel becomes a sanctuary visible only to those who step across your parcel border.

Security Orbs
Security orbs are welcome, but please set them with a minimum of 60 seconds before asking uninvited visitors to leave - and please consider kindness when choosing that number. It can take time for people to figure out what direction to go and get there. If you are home, you may eject people at your own discretion.
When configuring your orb, please choose the option that ejects rather than teleports home whenever possible. Lunamere thrives on open paths and wandering hearts - a traveler drifting by on foot, sail, or wing should be allowed to pass in peace.
Access Lists & Sanctuary
Blocking your entire parcel to public entry is not permitted. Doing so creates dead zones that break the flow of paths, views, and shared discovery that make Lunamere whole. The "Anyone can visit" option in your About Land Access tab must remain enabled. In Lunamere Tenebrae, the "Must be 18+" option is enabled at the estate level and may not be turned off.

You may, however, reserve a small portion of your parcel as a private enclave - a secret garden, ritual circle, or hidden study nook. These private spaces must be no more than 10% of your parcel's total size and must never cover or block public paths, roads, or waterways.

Lunamere is a place of peace, creativity, and kinship. To preserve that spirit, we ask that all residents and visitors keep these guidelines in mind.
Staff Communication
While residents are free to mute one another at their own discretion, estate staff must remain unmuted. Managers and support staff may need to contact you for administrative purposes such as tier reminders, rule compliance, or emergency notifications. Keeping staff unmuted ensures smooth communication and effective management of the estate.
Respect & Inclusion
Respect and kindness are the heart of Lunamere. We strive to create a community where everyone feels welcome and safe, provided they treat others with courtesy and consideration. Harassment, abuse, or discrimination of any kind - including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, disability, or belief - will not be tolerated.
Our approach to enforcement is gentle but consistent. If something needs adjusting, estate staff will reach out directly and respectfully. Most issues resolve quickly through communication and understanding. Repeated or serious violations, however, may result in further action to protect the community as a whole.
If you're ever uncertain about whether something is acceptable, please ask. Open communication is the foundation of harmony in Lunamere.
Nudity & Adult Content
Most of Lunamere is rated Moderate, with one Adult region - Lunamere Tenebrae. Different rules apply depending on which region you're in.
In Moderate Regions:
Nudity on your own parcel is welcome whether or not you have privacy settings enabled. Sexual activity on your own parcel is permitted, but please enable parcel privacy settings if engaging in anything explicit - your neighbors shouldn't have it in their sightlines unexpectedly. Nudity and sexual activity in public spaces are not permitted.
In Lunamere Tenebrae (Adult Region):
Nudity and sexual activity on your own parcel are welcome, whether or not you have privacy settings enabled. Public adult spaces exist within Tenebrae and are intentionally tucked away rather than front and center - use and enjoy them. What we ask is that you don't simply wander the region in the nude. Think of it like any adult venue - what happens behind a door or in a designated space is one thing; strolling the paths is another.
Roleplay, Attire & Weapons
Lunamere is not a roleplay-focused estate, but residents and guests are welcome to engage in roleplay if they wish. Any style of roleplay is acceptable as long as it doesn't disrupt others or interfere with estate operations, and we ask that all roleplay remain consensual and respectful of boundaries.
There is no dress code - Lunamere embraces everything from fae finery to casual streetwear, and all are equally at home here. Residents and visitors are free to express themselves through their clothing and avatars, provided they remain in compliance with the Nudity & Adult Content guidelines above.
Weapons are permitted, though unscripted weapons or weapons with combat functions disabled are preferred in everyday use. Combat roleplay is welcome only in consensual private spaces or in public areas specifically designed for it. Combat is not permitted in general public areas where not everyone present has explicitly agreed to participate.
Resident Relations
Personal disagreements between residents are considered private matters. Estate staff will not mediate or take sides in individual conflicts. We encourage residents to resolve issues respectfully and directly with one another. Only matters involving violations of estate rules or disruptive behavior affecting the broader community will be addressed by staff.
If a group of residents or a partnership sharing a parcel dissolves, ownership is determined by the account listed as the primary tier payer. That resident is considered the official record-holder for the parcel and retains full rights to it.
✦ Events & Community Life ✦
Lunamere is more than just land - it is a living community. Gatherings, parties, and quiet moments of connection breathe life into the estate, and all who walk our paths are invited to share in them. Non-resident guests are warmly welcome at estate events unless otherwise noted by the host, and are expected to follow the same code of conduct as residents.
Hosting Your Own Events
Residents are encouraged to host their own gatherings - whether a fireside story circle, a woodland concert, a game night, or a dance beneath the stars. To support your event, residents may request access to:

Events posted to the Lunamere Community Calendar, advertised through our in-world group or Discord, or promoted via posters rezzed in-world must take place within Lunamere. Exceptions may be made for approved fundraising events such as Relay For Life - please contact an estate manager to discuss.
To respect everyone's efforts and attendance, please avoid scheduling an event that overlaps with one already on the calendar. Contact an estate manager to discuss your ideas and arrange access.
Estate Event Platforms
For those who prefer not to host on their own parcel, Estate Event Platforms are available on a first come, first served basis. Platforms measure 64m x 64m and items must stay within those dimensions. Up to 1000 LI may be used for builds, setup may begin up to 7 days prior to the event, and cleanup should be completed within 3 days after. Chat range extenders are available upon request.

I believe Black lives matter. I believe trans rights are human rights. I believe in queer joy, in disability justice, in reproductive freedom, in the right to learn and the right to love.
